  And then I realized it's my blog, and I have to do the writing.

And that takes time I just don't seem to have.

A Star Trek Monologue

For theatre we had to write a monologue.  So, logically, I chose to write about Star Trek.

An excited, nervous geek girl.

Wow, Lenard’s party I’m so excited to be here.  I can’t believe I actually was invited to a party with actual boys (giggles uncomfortably/excitedly and waves to passing boy)!  I won’t get nervous, I won’t get nervous, I won’t get nervous.  When I get nervous I ramble and chatter and prattle, wait where are you going? Oh okay, bye, I guess I’ll talk to you late…  Hi Lenard…  Wow!  I’m so excited that you invited me to your party it’s so exciting. . .  So, have you ever seen Star Trek?  I love Star Trek.  You have no idea how much I want tricorder.  I have a replica, but wouldn’t it be great to have a real one?  What’s your favorite Star Trek episode?  Mine’s Season one Episode eighteen, The Arena, that’s the one where Captain Kirk is stuck on a planet with the Gorn, you know the big reptile looking thing that’s fighting Kirk goes MNMNAAH, that’s super strong  but super slow, and he has to construct a bazooka out of a big bamboo shoot and the minerals that he finds on the planet and uses the diamond looking stones to shoot the Gorn and the gun goes off and he hits the Gorn, and he’s supposed to finish the him off, because that’s what the aliens, the Metrons, that are keeping him captive on the planet want, a fight to the death, but he doesn’t “No, I won't kill him - do you hear? You'll have to get your entertainment someplace else.” Wow, Captain Kirk is so dreamy, almost as dreamy as you Lena… (Realizes who she’s talking to and looks horrified)
